Support Striking CUPE Long-Term Care Workers in Nova Scotia

Over 30 CUPE locals representing long-term care workers in Nova Scotia have been on the picket lines in a strike that began on April 13, 2026. These locals have over 3,000 active members who have been without a contract since October 31, 2023. More locals are joining the picket lines this week.

We are appealing to CUPE chartered organizations across the country to step up by making financial contributions where possible and by sending letters of support.

E-transfers can be sent to sectreasurer@cupens.ca. Please put “LTC Strike Support Fund” in the subject line to ensure your donation is directed appropriately.

Letters of support for the striking locals can be sent to Christa Sweeney, Chair of the NSLTCCC, at ltcns@icloud.com, with cc to Kim Cail, Staff Coordinator, at kcail@cupe.ca.
